I can't even believe it....

I was just informed of this ABOMINATION of an "art" exhibit at the Visual Arts Biennial of the Central American, by the so-called "artist" Guillermo Vargas Habacuc. This fucker took a dog from the street, tied it up in the gallery without food or water, and allowed it to starve to death in the presence of many gallery visitors. The gallery defended the actions, saying that since it was an artistic expression, it did not merit any allegations of mistreatment or legal action. This is absolutely disgusting. This is using the excuse that "art" allows one to do whatever the hell one wants to do. Maybe Habacuc wanted to make a "statement" on the mistreatment of animals, of humans, of whatever - is THIS the way to do it??? We KNOW there is mistreatment of animals, we KNOW that there are a million horrible things happening to human beings and animals alike - WHY make an example of one innocent dog to - what- REMIND us of this?? Unbelievable. What if a PERSON had been used as an example in this "prestigious" gallery? What if that person had not been allowed to eat or drink or shit - would THAT have been considered "art" as well????
I'm not a tree-hugger or anything, but this is more than upsetting. Maybe that's the very reaction that fucker wanted - in that case, if I had the opportunity, I'd blow a bullet in his head. May he rot in Hell. May all of them that considered this "art" rot in Hell.

D8 Holy crap ... I hadn't heard of this. I wanted to say more on it, but I'm kind of stunned right now.

Ever Tomorrow: A Steampunk Fantasy Romance
it's not good art.
The gallery is defending him, but SOMEONE is taking some kind of legal action aren't they?
Argh. That's really disgusting. Apparently the guy kept telling people different things about why he did it and whether or not the dog lived >=( He apparently also wrote a message on the wall behind the dog in DOG FOOD, which he easily could have actually given to the dog.

What is wrong with some people, anyway?

"I'll give you stars and the moon and a soul to guide you
And a promise I'll never go
I'll give you hope to bring out all the life inside you
And the strength that will help you grow..."
I remember hearing about this a while back, and was absolutely sickened by this. If he really wanted to show mistreatment, there are other ways of displaying that. If he wanted to make a statement that there is murder going on, would the gallery be okay if he went out and shot someone in the museum? Ugh. I hope he starves in jail (if he ever ends up going).
Haha, where's PETA when you need them? :XD:

I was shocked when I heard about this too! Again, it brings up the question of "What is art?"

I for one can give this particular an instance of: Not art.

I flirt with fine art. She tells me that she's not that kind of girl, and I tell her that's because she needs one more drink.

Opinions are not reflex actions.
Oh god, that is so disgusting. ><;; What I can't believe is that the gallery actually defended him. Is there an article on this somewhere? Someone is going something to persecute this guy, right?

The fact that no one understands you doesn't make you an artist.
o_O is the theme, the art of torturing small animals?!?! seesh.
